Musical News - Richard Street of The Temptations

Richard Street (who replaced Paul Williams) and who sang with The Temptations from 1971 – 1993, died on February 26, 2013 at the age of 70. Mr. Street allegedly died of a pulmonary embolism. He was known for his lead vocals on  "Superstar (Remember How You Got Where You Are)” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone”. He is the second former member of The Temptations to pass on within the last two weeks. Damon Harris (who died on February 18, 2013) and Street occasionally performed as a duo, after both left The Temptations.

Mr. Street performed in the pre-Temptations days as a member of The Distants, along with Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin.
